Intelligence products
The Australian Crime Commission (ACC) collects, collates, analyses and disseminates intelligence to a variety of stakeholders including law enforcement, government and the private sector.
A range of intelligence activities are undertaken by the ACC to support its provision of quality intelligence services. Our intelligence products are tailored to meet the different needs of each client.
The majority of ACC intelligence products provide decision makers with context in order to understand emerging threats. The time frames for these ‘forward looking’ intelligence assessments range from one to two years for operational products, through to five years for our strategic products.
Other products are designed to satisfy immediate operational imperatives or focus on projected criminal activity out to a few months.
The majority of our products are classified and only disseminated to partner law enforcement or government agencies when relevant. These reports provide specified agencies and the ACC Board with the ability to:
- understand the nature of organised crime in Australia, informing strategic policy and law enforcement decisions
- consider the implications of future changes to criminal markets and criminal activities
- understand intelligence issues resulting from operational activity.
