Welcome to the
AUSTRALIAN CRIME COMMISSION

The Australian Crime Commission (ACC) is Australia's national criminal intelligence agency.

We work in partnership with other law enforcement agencies to develop a national understanding of serious and organised crime to provide target information for action by partner agencies and to predict future criminal trends.

Our purpose is to unite the fight against nationally significant crime.

Providing an informed picture of nationally significant crime

Serious and organised crime poses significant risk to the Australian economy and way of life. Serious and organised criminal groups operate across national, State and Territory and international borders and across the public and private sectors.

We aim to make the Australian environment unattractive for serious and organised crime. We are doing this by giving governments and partner agencies the information they need to make good decisions to protect Australia from nationally significant crime.

In undertaking this task we deliver:

  • tactical and strategic intelligence
  • national serious and organised crime investigations with and for our partners
  • national criminal intelligence database services
  • policy development and law reform advice
  • powerful cross-sectoral partnerships.
